The future, if we can make it that long, seems pretty promising. Netflix has teamed with The Verge for this magazine-style docuseries about how technology will impact our daily lives in a variety of subjects, such as space vacations (an Airbnb on the moon!), dogs (an AI that understands what your dog is saying!), and gaming (PlayStation 4000!). The 20-minute episodes breeze through the possibilities with a mix of interviews with experts and regular folk, never going too deep but giving an easy-to-understand overview of what might be coming. But you will find newly unearthed archival footage that offers a never-before-seen perspective on the 1986 nuclear disaster and its aftermath. The Umbrella Academy

Season 3 premieres Wednesday, June 22 on Netflix
Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy left off on a major cliffhanger when the gang time-traveled from the '60s back to an alternate version of 2019 in which Hargreeves (Colm Feore) had trained seven different superpowered babies into becoming the Sparrow Academy. In Season 3, the series is picking up right where it left off, and the Umbrellas will have to deal with the apocalyptic event potentially caused by their timeline jumping. -Allison Picurro[ Trailer ]

The Bear

Series premiere Thursday, June 23 on Hulu
Jeremy Allen White cements himself as one of TV's go-to fake Chicagoans in The Bear. The Shameless alum stars in this intense FX dark comedy (available exclusively on Hulu) about a fine dining chef who returns home to run his family's restaurant, The Original Beef of Chicagoland, after a tragedy. Gordita Chronicles

Series premiere Thursday, June 23 on HBO Max
Eva Longoria and Zoe Saldaña produce this charmer about a Dominican family who move from Santo Domingo to Miami in the 1980s, only to find the American Dream doesn't look anything like they expected. The semi-autobiographical comedy, from creator and executive producer Claudia Forestieri, is told through the perspective of 12-year-old Cucu Castelli (newcomer Olivia Goncalves), who makes a case for being one of the funniest middle schoolers on TV in the trailer alone. -Kelly Connolly [ Trailer ]

Loot

Series premiere Friday, June 24 on Apple TV+
The only thing you really need to know about Loot is that it stars Maya Rudolph as "the most famous cheated-on woman on the planet." What else does any show need? The new Apple TV+ comedy reunites Rudolph with Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, creators of Amazon's Forever, but she's not dead this time; she's just been very publicly cheated on by her rich husband (Adam Scott), leaving her with billions of dollars and a charity foundation she never knew existed. She decides to take a more active role in the charity to prove she's got substance, making Loot kind of like Legally Blonde for billionaires' ex-wives. -Kelly Connolly [ Trailer ]

Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area

Series premieres Friday, June 24 on Netflix
Netflix's two biggest international series come together in Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area, a Korean remake of the mega-hit Spanish series Money Heist that stars Squid Game's Park Hae-soo as Berlin, Money Heist's most complex character. Burning star Jun Jong-seo, an actress with an absolutely riveting screen presence, plays Tokyo, the show's nominal point-of-view character. Joint Economic Area puts a uniquely Korean spin on the Money Heist premise. It's set in an alternate reality where North and South Korea have opened up economic relations, which inevitably leads to the rich getting richer and the poor getting screwed. So a crack team, led by criminal mastermind the Professor (Yoo Ji-tae), takes over a mint for a heist with a political agenda. -Liam Mathews [ Trailer ]

Chloe

Series premieres Friday, June 24 on Amazon Prime Video
The six-part BBC psychological thriller was all the hotness when it was released earlier this year in the U.K., but it makes its U.S. debut this summer on Prime Video. The series follows a woman who is obsessed with her childhood friend's seemingly perfect social media presence, but when her friend mysteriously dies, she develops a new alter ego to get into her obsession's inner circle and find out what happened. Downton Abbey: A New Era

Friday, June 24 on Peacock
The second Downton Abbey movie comes to streaming after a successful theatrical run. If you missed it in theaters, you can watch it on Peacock for much less than the cost of a movie ticket. A fun thing that happens in this movie, which is set in 1928, is a silent movie is being filmed at Downton as the film industry transitions to talkies, and Lady Mary Talbot (Michelle Dockery) gets hired to dub the lines for the movie's lead actress, who has a working-class accent. Man vs. Bee

Series premieres Friday, June 24 on Netflix
This family comedy series couldn't have a simpler premise. A man (Rowan Atkinson, the physical comedian who is synonymous with his most famous character, Mr. Bean) will stop at nothing to swat a bee, but the bee is eluding him. So he's destroying everything in his path. If that doesn't seem like enough to sustain a whole TV series, you've obviously never seen Mr. Bean do his theeng. -Liam Mathews [ Trailer ]

Westworld

Season 4 premieres Sunday, June 26 at 9/8c on HBO and HBO Max
Just when you thought Westworld couldn't get any more confusing, HBO's sci-fi drama about artificial intelligence gone wild busts out the flies. The trailer for Season 4 shows an unusual amount of flies all over Aaron Paul's face, which is not a good sign, and I can confirm that there are indeed flies in Season 4. Are they robot flies? Are they regular flies enjoying themselves at a theme park created for their enjoyment? Are... we the flies? Whoa. Aside from flies, expect more copies of Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), the Man in Black (Ed Harris) or a facsimile of The Man in Black on a rampage, and more ruminating on the different between man and machine. -Tim Surette [Trailer]

Mind Over Murder

Now on HBO Max
This true crime series looks at the strange case of the "Beatrice Six," who were convicted of a murder in Beatrice, NE in 1985 to which five of the six people confessed but were then exonerated by DNA evidence 24 years later. The six-part series explores how and why this injustice happened (you should not be shocked to find out it's due to shoddy police work) and its psychological effects on the people who live in the town, which is paying millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded damages to the Beatrice Six. In an effort to help the town recover, the filmmakers encourage the town's community theater to stage a performance drawn from documents related to the investigation and trial. -Liam Mathews [ Trailer ]
